Severn River Lions Foundation Focus

The Severn River Lions Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization.

We Give Sight & Hearing. We help to restore sight and prevent blindness by improving eye care, and providing vision testing and eyeglasses. We provide hearing testing and hearing aids. We sponsor programs to improve health, fight measles and provide aid to the disabled.

We Support Youth. Through sponsorship of Scouts, LEO Clubs (ages 12 18) in schools, peace poster contests in the art departments of local schools, and other projects, youth enjoy opportunities to develop and succeed.

We Provide Disaster Relief. Local efforts recently included providing Lions to assist in the Ellicott City, MD flood clean-up and before that Hurricane Katrina.

What is a Lion?

The International Association of Lions Clubs is the world's largest volunteer service organization, consisting of nearly 1.4 million service-minded men and women in more than 46,000 clubs in over 200 countries or geographic locations. Lions Clubs International extends our mission of service every day in local communities, in all corners of the globe. The needs are great and our services broad, including sight, health, youth, elderly, the environment and disaster relief.

Lions Clubs International is not a fraternal, social or political organization. It is a group of men and women bonded together to do things that you and I cannot do as individuals. The motto of Lions Clubs International and of our own club is "We Serve."

Severn River Lions Club was chartered in 1956 - for over 60 years we have been tirelessly serving those in need in the surrounding community. With projects ranging from vision screening, to providing scholarships for high school and college students, the Severn River Lions Club is committed to bringing the unparalleled services of Lions Clubs International to our community.

Did you know accessible prescription labels and label readers are now available for free to those who need it?

You can help SAVE LIVES! How?

AMAZING CUSTOMERS - THANKS!!!
We appreciate your support of our 2016-2017 citrus sales. See you in November.

MILLION PENNY CHALLENGE
The Severn River Lions Foundation is asking for your help with our MILLION PENNY CHALLENGE. Our goal quite simply is to raise a million pennies before June 30, 2018.

With 60 members, the Severn River Lions serve the community in many ways by focusing on those in need. You may be familiar with our citrus sales that have taken place in Severna Park between November and March every year for the last 40 years. This past season we were disappointed when our citrus supplier was unable to supply promised fruit due to disease and weather conditions.

Our MILLION PENNY CHALLENGE will make up for some of the losses we experienced this past season. Please consider letting us place one of our collection jars in your business so that we may collect pennies from your customers.

Feel free to contact us via email or at (410) 439-5770 if you need any further information or to become a collection location.
